The BC Museums Association, (BCMA) is seeking sponsors for our provincial “Museums in Motion” Awards Program.
BCMA’s Awards Program was established in the 1970’s to recognize individuals, institutions and companies who have made a significant or unique contribution to BC’s museums, art galleries and heritage community. This year’s Awards will be presented at the Grand Okanagan Lakeshore Resort & Conference Centre in Kelowna, BC as part of BCMA’s 49th annual provincial Conference 2005, October 19th–22nd.
We invite supporters to assist us in acknowledging and encouraging excellence by sponsoring a “Museums in Motion” Award.
The Awards recognize contributions made in three categories:
The Distinguished Service Award
The Corporate Service Award
The Award of Merit (up to 3 awards)
The Distinguished Service Award may be given to an individual who has made a unique and outstanding contribution on a provincial or national basis to the museum, gallery, archives or heritage field over an extended period of time.
The Corporate Service Award may be given to a corporate supporter that has, over an extended period, been innovative in donating funds, services or personnel to the museum, gallery, archives or heritage resources field.
The Award of Merit may be given to an individual, institution or agency for a recent outstanding, innovative or creative achievement in the museum, gallery, archives or heritage resources field in BC. This award may also be given to those not directly involved in the above fields, but who have made a significant contribution to them.
We are seeking $1,000.00 Cdn to offset production of each award. In recognition of this significant contribution, the name of the sponsor will be incorporated into the Award title and engraved into the brass recipient plate. Sponsors will also be recognized on the BCMA’s new website, in media releases and at Conference 2005’s Awards Banquet. Presentation to this year’s recipient, multi-year sponsorship and co-sponsorship arrangements are also opportunities available by contacting the BCMA Secretariat Office (250-356-5700).
Don’t miss this chance to ensure that the invaluable contributions of individuals, institutions and corporate supporters to our museums, galleries, archives and heritage do not go unrecognized. Here is your opportunity!
Thank You,
Louise Avery, Chair,
