BCMA is finalizing arrangements with Charter Bus Lines of BC for a roundtrip bus charter from Vancouver to Cranbrook for Conference 2011, departing Sunday, October 2nd & returning Thursday, October 7th, arriving the same day in the early evening, both ways.
A central departure point, or a series of pick-up points around the Lower Mainland, including the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal for delegates travelling from Vancouver Island, (Duke Point, Nanaimo & Swartz Bay, Victoria), is currently being negotiated with final details to be announced SOON!
Price range: $225. to $275. per person, return (based on advance bookings).
Compare with listed airfares, the sightseeing of one of BC's most picturesque travel routes, and the comraderie & good fun of travelling with your colleagues & fellow Conference 2011 delegates!
To Reserve Your Seat(s):
BCMA is now accepting reservations (no payment now) on a "first come" basis while final details are being confirmed. Maximum number of seats available is 56 passengers.
Since no booking deadline has been set by Charter Bus Lines, please take the following next steps:
1. Call BCMA (250-356-5700) or Email the BCMA
(Members@museumsassn.bc.ca) with "Magical Mystery Tour" in the
Subject line;
2. Please provide your Name, Email address & Phone number, plus the
number of seats you wish to reserve;
3. Indicate your preference for: A) Central Lower Mainland departure point
(with longterm Parking); OR B) Suggested nearby pick-up point &
address, (consider a mall parking lot, on or near main highways).
As soon as final charter bus details are confirmed, BCMA will contact you directly with payment instructions, deadline & travel itinerary details.

For Pre-Conference Workshops, BCMA's Conference 2011 qualifies for bursaries from the Canadian Museums Association Bursary Fund
normally reserved for pre-conference workshops.

BCMA's Travel Assistance Bursary Program
For Conference 2011, the BCMA will offer a limited number of $250.00 Travel Assistance Bursaries to delegates-in-need representing current BCMA Institutional Members.
To Apply:
1. Write to the BCMA to formally request a Travel Assistance Bursary;
2. Include in your letter a brief budget statement listing your:
a) Registration fees;
b) Travel & accommodation expenses, &
c) Your projected Total Cost to participate.
d) Indicate any & all other confirmed bursaries or financial assistance
you will receive to participate at Conference 2011;
3. Submit your application by the deadline (postmarked no later than) September 26, 2011 to:
