Even if you, or your institution's staff, colleagues or volunteers are unable to take advantage of the Pre-Conference Workshops, or the 25+ Conference 2008 educational sessions during the week, members and guests are welcome and invited to join with delegates, presenters, exhibitors and special Conference guests for any of the Evening Events or Minister's Luncheon, OR to help celebrate the BC Museums Association's annual provincial Museums in Motion Awards and the Golden Anniversary Service Awards.

After your Pre-Conference Workshop, or after arriving in Victoria, help launch your Conference 2008 experience with a party!  Join us for a fabulous reception in the world famous Fairmont Empress' equally renowned Tearoom and Palm Court; stroll through this year's Trade Show, meet the exhibitors and place a bid or two on the unique Silent Auction items and help build the "Donor Wall" in support of BCMA's Endowment Fund Campaign.
 
Following the reception, your time is all your own to explore Victoria's Inner Harbour, or up Government Street and sample any one (or more!) of Victoria's public houses, restaurants and entertainment hot spots!

 Join us for a lavishly served dinner with the annual Awards Banquet. THEN help recognize
 and celebrate the nominated achievements of your colleagues over the past year (or longer!)
 with the presentation of this year's provincial Museums in Motion Awards (at left), in the
 categories of Distinguished Service, Corporate Service and up to three Awards of Merit.
 Recipients of this year's Barrie Hardcastle Bursary and Joe Nagel Technology Bursary will
 also be announced by the BCMA's Awards Committee Chair, George Harris of Two Rivers Gallery, Prince George, BC. Presentations will include second year recipients of BCMA's Golden Anniversary Service Awards, introduced in 2007 as part of BCMA's year-long 50th Anniversary celebrations.

The lucky bidders from this year's annual, Conference-long Silent Auction will be announced, and the traditional Live Auction will feature a variety of fabulous trips and special items, all donated by sponsors, suppliers and member museums and art galleries from around BC.  This year, all Auction proceeds will benefit the BCMA's Endowment Fund Campaign, and help match the Vancouver Foundation's approved pledge of $50,000 from the BC Arts Renaissance Fund.
