Biography: Brian Laurie-Beaumont

Brian Laurie-Beaumont graduated from Carleton University in 1973 with an Honours B.A. in History and Political Science, and continued with post-graduate studies in International Affairs. In 1974 he joined the Federal Public Service, working in the Administrative Trainee Program, Foreign Services, the Department of Environment (International Relations), and Indian & Northern Affairs (Territorial Legislation) before arriving in 1976 at the National Museums of Canada. He has been a senior planning advisor for the Preventive Conservation Services Division of CCI since 1996, where his specialty is museum planning.
